Academic Resources


The Learning Center

Located in the Seton Center, room 156 (down the hallway, past the police desk) The Learning Center provides several academic resources including: the Math Center, the Writing Center, peer tutoring, access to computers, quiet test taking, and study spaces.

Academic Advising

Located in the Conlan Center; walk through Financial Aid and the double doors to get to the advising center. Before registering for classes, it is recommended that students meet with their advisors. The advising center offers academic exploration services and can help a student identify who their advisor is, answer questions about changing or declaring a major, and guide class choices.

PASS Program

Students accepted into the PASS Program are given extra support in their first year. Working with an academic advisor and other University offices, you’ll get individual, personalized support to help monitor your progress and address first-year demands. By participating in PASS, students develop effective study and life management habits to help them achieve success.It is located in the Academic Advising Resource Center in the Conlan Center, Administration Building.

The PASS advisor sets up appointments with PASS students, but they can stop in anytime the AARC is open.

Archbishop Alter Library

Located directly across campus from Seton Hall in its own building. The library provides various academic resources to students such as silent and group study spaces, computers for student use, course textbook reserves available for rent, access to OhioLINK and Interlibrary loans for finding research materials, as well as instructional and research help services with a librarian.

Study Spaces on Campus

The places which are open for study spaces and zoom meetings on campus this year are as follows: The Archbishop Alter Library, the Library group study room, the commuter lounge, the theatre gallery, as well as group study rooms on floor 2-6 of Seton Hall.

Quiet/No Zoom rooms: CL 113, CL 115 (classroom building)

Open/Zoom rooms: SET G1, G2, G3 on the ground floor of Seton Hall, CLC 1 in the computer learning center (ground floor of Seton Hall), then CL 105 and CL 106 (classroom building)

Practice Rooms for musicians are also always available behind the recital hall on the first floor of the music wing off the classroom building.

Career Center

Located in Seton Hall past the learning center in Set 120. Through the career center, students are offered the opportunity to engage in co-ops and internships, study abroad and cultural immersion options, as well as basic career development help with writing resumes and improving interview skills.

Service Learning

The Service Learning and Civic Engagement office is located in the career center in Seton Hall. This nationally recognized program provides students with the opportunity to engage in service learning courses and academic service learning, and provides students with assistance in voter registration.

Located in the Conlan Center, the Registrar’s Office aids with issuing MSJ transcripts, registration and schedules, changes to major or minor, NCAA eligibility, and much more.

Project EXCEL

Located in SC17 on the ground floor of the science building, Project EXCEL is a fee-based academic support program for students with learning differences. They offer

federally-mandated services along with weekly tutoring by professional staff, time management sessions, and academic counseling.

Health Resources

The Wellness Center

Located in the Harrington Center past the Roar Store and Food court. The Wellness Center offers mental and physical health services including mental health counseling, vaccinations, physician visits and exams, as well as continued medical care of any long-term physical/mental conditions.

TimelyCare

Mount St. Joseph University students have FREE, 24/7 access to virtual care services with TimelyCare — the virtual health and well-being platform from TimelyMD, designed for college students. Students do not need insurance to access TimelyCare services. Services through TimelyCare include support for common illnesses (cold, flu, etc.) 24/7 emotional support for anything inlcuding anxiety, relationships, depression, etc., psychiatry, and self-care content.

Domestic Resources

Lion’s Cupboard Food Pantry

Located on the ground floor of the Science building in SC 21. It is an on-campus food pantry stocked with food items, clothing, hygiene products as well as feminine hygiene products open to all Mount students. Here is the link to order online.

Be Concerned Food Pantry

The Be Concerned Food Pantry provides MSJ students with food assistance monthly delivered to the ground floor of the parking garage through food orders. When a drive is upcoming, the office of student affairs will send out an email with date details and the form needed to fill out to receive food assistance.

AVI Food Systems

The AVI Food Systems can be located in Fifth Third Dining Hall in the Seton building, Harrington Food Court on the bottom level of the Harrington Center (right by the Roar Store), and Proudly Serving Starbucks Cafe located inside the library. Here is a link to Meal Plans if interested.

Student Kitchen

There is a kitchen located on the ground floor of the Seton Center building next to the campus police office (next to Market C). Students can check out the key from the police officers at the front desk of the Seton Center to use the kitchen.

On-Campus Childcare

The Charlotte Schmidlapp Laboratory School is located in the Harrington Center and can be reached through the west parking lot (next to the Fitness Center). Through admission by the link provided, student parents can access quality childcare while on campus for children aged from infancy to five years.
